Empire: Season 5 is Only a Month Away! New Trailer

empire season 5. Instabamm

Empire is one of the most highly appraised musical dramas in recent years. If you haven’t watched it yet, you have approximately a month until season five premiere’s – so you should get binging.

The series masterfully blends sass, drama, great music, powerful women, corporate power, homosexuality, racism, and everything else one could think of regarding contemporary commercial music in America.

Empire premiered on Fox in 2015 to a broad audience and great reception by millions who applauded the cast for a strong and realistic representation of high-class players in show business. It centers on a fictional hip-hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founding family as they fight for control.

The show stars Terrence Howard as hip-hop music mogul Lucious Lyon, founder and CEO of Empire Entertainment, and Taraji Penda Henson co-stars as his recently paroled ex-wife Cookie Lyon. Their three kids are Bryshere Gray as Hakeem – a star on the rise, Jussie Smollett as Jamal – a gay songwriter and singer, and Trai Byers as Andre – as the company’s power-hungry financial manager. They are joined by a great ensemble cast with the likes of Grace Byers (Anika), Malik Yoba (Vernon), and other celebrity guest stars like Alicia Keys and Naomi Campbell.

A teaser trailer for the fifth season has been released online, with a captivating tagline about how the Lyon’s have been knocked down only to rise again (bottom of the article).

It seems Eddie, who deceived the Lyon’s in season four then took over the company, is still in charge at Empire, but the Lyon family have resurfaced after dropping off the grid. This all taking place after the expected two-year jump between seasons. The highly anticipated premiere promises to explain this absence in full.

Furthermore, the clip shows Cookie, Jamal, and Luscious brainstorming to come up with a new sound. Jamal also seems confident that if anyone can make it back from such a colossal failure and “recreate the magic from scratch” then it has to be Cookie and Luscious Lyon, who are seen toasting to their comeback saying that they always rise again.

Season 5 is set to premiere September 26th, 2018 on Fox
